Dear Friends of the Elephant,
elephants are both a highly threatened and extraordinary fascinating species. Do you love to be inspired by amazing elephant photographs and would like to contribute to elephant conservation in their natural habitats? Then you should support the project
Proboscidea - The emotional lives of elephants
By using amazing elephant photos taken in Sri Lanka plus additional informative text, a young team led by the Australian photographer Hamish J. Appleby produced a book to inform and inspire, to bring people closer to elephants. Any and all profits made from the sales for the book, after printing and production expenses, will be given to a Sri Lankan elephant conservation project which is really worth supporting - not just another elephant tourism business that is masked as `Sanctuary`.
"Proboscidea - The emotional lives of elephants" is supported by our organisation. Dr. Marion Garaї, the renowned elephant expert and member of our Advisory board, gives scientific advice to the Kickstarter project in order to ensure that the information published will be in line with the most recent scientific knowledge on elephants.
